Chop Wood, Carry Wisconsin! 3/25 🧀
Hi, all,
Jess Craven here.
Welcome to the new folks on this list! Sorry if you know this already, but in case you missed it you’ll want to start out by checking out the Adopt WI Master Doc. Many great Wisconsin to-do’s in there!
I wanted to share a TikTok with y’all that I made recently (unless it’s the reason you subscribed, in which case move on to the next paragraph 🥰.) It’s about state-level elections and why they matter so much. I hope you’ll find it galvanizing. (Don’t have TikTok? It’s here on IG). The article it’s based off of is here.
After you’ve watched it and/or read Squadron’s piece you’ll want to do something. I’ve got just the events for you!
🧀 Sister District, one of the best orgs doing state-level electoral work, offers a monthly event called State Bridges which fundraises for “impactful state-based organizations engaged in year-round progressive powerbuilding in key battleground states.”
On Wednesday, March 30, from 8-9 EDT they’re focussing on Wisconsin! The event will feature Citizen Action's Executive Director Robert Kraig, WISDOM's Executive Director David Liners and Lavanna Martinez, the Senior Political Manager at Run for Something. It’s going to be GREAT and crazy informative. Sign up to attend here. (No donation required, btw.)
🧀 On April 11th, from 7-8PM EDT Governor Tony Evers will speak at NOPE’s monthly meeting. He’s awesome. He’s a skilled Governor. We need him to win again, badly. Come hear him talk about protecting democracy in the heartland.
Then, if you’re able, maybe you’ll make a donation. Or sign up to volunteer for him. If not no biggie. Either way you’ll leave fired up about helping in Wisconsin.
Can’t make it but want to give to the fundraiser? Here’s the link.
OK, y’all. Thanks so much for being on this list, and, more importantly, for DOING SOMETHING now. We need you.
Talk again soon.
Jess
P.S. Pardon any typos. It’s just me doing all of this. My brain is tired. 😁
