Hi, all! I know it’s been a bit quiet on this list, and I’m sorry for that. I have a total of 11 state-specific email newsletters, as well as the main Chop Wood, Carry Water, so keeping them all going is quite the juggling act. I did, however, want to drop in the below from WisDems. As always, they are doing tremendous work between elections, and they need more volunteers to help.
I think many of us in Wisconsin are terribly discouraged. 75% of GOP bills get a public hearing, but they only allow 2% of Dem bills to have a hearing. We are a 50-50 state but Dems get 1/3 of the Assembly seats under the current (gerrymandered) maps. Our only hope of turning this around is threatened by Repub legislators who want to impeach our newly-elected Progressive Supreme Court Judge who might actually do something about our heavily-skewed maps. This is minority rule to the max, and it is an uphill battle to make any headway against the bad guys!
